Hilemn History
Hilemn's history began in Mt. Vernon, NY, during the 1950's when Hal Hilemn and his brother Chuck began supplying silvering solutions to mirror manufacturers. Recognizing the importance of the Piedmont Region to the furniture and mirror industries, they decided to establish the Hilemn Laboratories in Greensboro, NC in 1957.

Over the ensuing years, Hilemn established a reputation as a technology leader with innovations important to advancing the state-of-the-art in mirror manufacturing. They also built a strong reputation for knowledgeable technical service and timely customer support throughout the mirror industry..

In 1997, Hilemn consolidated with the Sureguard Corporation and began offering mirror back coatings to the mirror industry. In 2001, Hilemn became part of the Spraylat Corporation. Spraylat is a recognized leader in innovative coating technologies, headquartered, ironically in Mt. Vernon, NY, bringing Hilemn back to its historical roots.
