Anti-microbial Powder Coatings

Spraylat Powder Coating introduces an addition to its line of powder coatings, SilverSan™ Antimicrobial Powder Coating. Spraylat’s SilverSan will enable customers to offer a new product that specifically addresses opportunities in the marketplace, differentiating themselves from the competition.
Antimicrobial coatings are used to provide supplemental protection against the growth of microorganisms in a wide range of applications. Bacteria, fungi or algae, when present, can produce unwanted odors, cause discoloration, create bifouling or produce mildew. In certain cases this can also lead to degradation or corrosion of the base material.
SilverSanTM Antimicrobial Powder Coating
Spraylat’s new antimicrobial powder coating, provides protection against a broad spectrum of micro-organisms. These coatings are developed in a proprietary manufacturing process using the additive AlphaSan®1, a silver containing zirconium phosphate-based ceramic ion exchange particles. Silver is known to be a safe material for human contact that is very effective against a broad spectrum of micro-organisms.
AlphaSan® is NSF and EPA FIFRA approved for drinking water contact and FDA approved for food packaging applications.

Spraylat’s antimicrobial coating provides non-migratory, long term antimicrobial efficacy, even to abraded surfaces. These coatings possess high temperature stability and excellent color retention. They are also durable and capable of providing maximum protection over an extended period of time. Spraylat’s antimicrobial powder coating is available in all resin chemistries. The product is fully reclaimable and displays excellent exterior durability in addition to its resistance to micro-organisms
