Liquid Coatings for Aluminum Wheel
Over the last 20 years, Spraylat has repeatedly advanced the state-of-the-art in water-based liquid coatings for automotive applications. Spraylat’s WBP series of 2K water-based urethane coatings has been the leading wheel coating technology in the industry since the early 1980’s. This technology provides excellent corrosion performance, superior chip whip resistance and is easy to use in production. Spraylat also offers high performance 2K solvent-based products (WBS) for automotive wheel applications.
Spraylat recently introduced a new water-based coating to the automotive market. This product is a NZ “Near Zero” VOC 1K urethane (WNZB) wheel coating. This technology is compliant with VOC levels below 0.6 lbs./gal. In addition, WNZB coatings deliver excellent corrosion performance and improved chip whip properties. Powder Coatings for Wheels
Spraylat manufactures powder coating products for aluminum and steel wheel applications at its Gainesville, TX plant. Spraylat powder wheel coating products include a high performance polyester powder primer that is a high flow, extremely smooth finish product that offers excellent coverage. Spraylat also offers high quality metallic powder color coat products for wheel applications.
Spraylat has a polyester powder clear coat for OE wheel applications. In addition, Spraylat has developed a unique acrylic/polyester (hybrid) powder clear coat for wheels. This coating offers excellent weatherability and durability. It also provides a very smooth, clear surface. As an alternative to straight acrylic clear coats, Spraylat hybrid coatings offers significant cost savings.
