Coatings for Metals

Spraylat’s new, fully compliant, NZ “Near Zero” 2K water-based system includes a 0.1 lbs./gal. VOC urethane top coat and a 0.1 lbs./gal. VOC epoxy primer. This epoxy primer is also suitable for coating with other 2K solvent-based top coats.

This new water system offers corrosion performance and chemical resistance equal or superior to solvent-based 2K coating systems. Cost savings associated with this new technology are significant including the elimination of hazardous wastes in the manufacturing operation. The surface finish achieved with this water-based coating system is extremely smooth.

Spraylat has formulated a compliant, 2K NZ “Near Zero” VOC solvent-based top coat that has 1.0 lbs./gal. VOC. Its properties are similar to those achieved with our water system.

Our new ISO-FREE 2K solvent-based urethane coating is a solvent-based 2K coating that can be applied direct-to-metal with excellent corrosion resistance. It also provides an extended pot-life of up to 24 hours. The elimination of free Isocyanates eliminates the need for respirators in production.

Spraylat has also developed a unique, air-dry or forced-dry, NZ “Near Zero” 1K urethane coating that is compliant and tolerant to coating onto low temperature metal parts. This coating can be applied direct-to-metal or over a primer. This coating offers good corrosion resistance.
