ISO-FREE 2K Urethane Coating

Spraylat has introduced a new, non-isocyanate (ISO-Free), two-component urethane coating ISO-Free coatings are based on novel, acetoacetate chemistry that delivers improved performance properties in gloss, pot life, low temperature reactivity, chemical resistance and weatherability. Being ISO-Free, this technology provides inherent benefits health over traditional isocyanate urethane chemistry. It is also HAPS Free.

Traditional 2K urethanes have a pot life, in production, of only about 2-3 hours. Frequently this results in production problems and delays. As pot life is approached quality problems can also develop. Spraylat’s ISO-Free technology has a pot life of 24 hours or more. This represents a major advancement in 2K urethane chemistry that results in a significant improvement in user friendliness. In addition, the pot life of Spraylat’s ISO-Free can be extended by mixing fresh paint each day. Spraylat’s ISO-Free technology is also a “direct-to-metal” product that eliminates the need for a primer.

This technology delivers excellent corrosion protection over both unprimed steel and treated aluminum. Salt spray test results on scribed panel show over 1000 hours on treated aluminum and over 500 hours on B1000 steel.

Spraylat’s ISO-Free, 2K urethane chemistry also offers excellent gloss retention properties when subjected to 5° South Florida weathering.

General Product Use

Spraylat’s 2K ISO Free urethane top coat can be used on utility and maintenance vehicle, farm and construction equipment, electrical machinery, refrigeration and heating equipment and general industrial machinery. It is also an excellent coating for applications such as vessels, tanks, cylinders, etc.

This coating is also suited for metal finishing applications including the automotive and machine tool industries as a result of the coatings excellent resistance to solvents, lubricants, cutting oils and other chemicals.

Spraylat’s ISO Free coating is also an excellent touch-up paint for applications where damage may occur on part in storage or during shipment. As a direct-to-metal product, its excellent pot life provides versatility in a manufacturing environment.
